Drivers must be between 25-75 years of age, and have held a full UK/EU driving license for a minimum of 3 years prior to the commencement of hire. Drivers license must be free of endorsements except from minor speeding or parking offences (more than 3 points may be subject to an insurance surcharge).
All drivers must be present at time of collection and produce drivers license plus personal ID.
The price covers one named driver; additional drivers may be added at a cost of £5 per driver per day. Drivers are required to submit their personal details on the booking form. At the commencement of hire all drivers must produce personal identification, a valid passport and two confirmations of address, 1 being a utility bill plus either bank/building society statement or credit card bill within the last 90 days.
A £500 damage deposit is payable at commencement of hire. Up to a £1000 deposit may be required if the hire is for attending a sports event etc. If the vehicle is returned undamaged and in good condition with clean interior then a full refund will be given (charge of £50 will be made for unemptied chemical toilet tank) However should the condition of the vehicle need repairs, replacement or cleaning, a cost will be charged against the deposit. If the hirer is found to have damaged the vehicle by negligence (I.e No other person or vehicle involved) the hirer will be responsible for the full rectification costs. (front and rear bumpers,over cab mouldings, roof lights, aerial, windows, wing mirrors and external doors are typical components prone to be damaged by negligence).
Any accidents caused by third parties must be reported to Cross Country Motorhome Home Hire immediately stating third party vehicle insurance details.
The insurance is only valid for the period of the hire, any late return would automatically constitute a traffic offence under the Road Traffic Act. Invalid insurance means the driver and main hirer become personally liable for any accident damage to the Motorhome, third party property and third party personal injuries. Insurance cover is for the vehicle and equipment only. Personal possessions are not covered: Hirers are advised to take out holiday insurance.
We will not be able to insure persons who have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or have had there driving license endorsed or suspended or more than 6 penalty points in posed. "Spent" conviction, covered by the rehabilitation of offenders Act 1974 may be disregarded.
We will not be able to insure persons that have there insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had there insurance or cover cancelled by any motor insurer.
We also cannot insure - persons wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons, Jockeys and persons connected with racing, gaming industry or press of any sort, under graduates and/or students under 25 years of age, persons who, whilst driving, have been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years. Foreign Service Personnel other than persons holding a full UK/EU license for 3 years or more.
The insured vehicle shall be driven only by the hirer or other permitted drivers who have completed and signed a hire drive proposal.
The insured vehicle shall not be used for the carriage of goods of an explosive, dangerous or hazardous nature of the carriage of goods or passenger for hire and reward.
Reservations & Cancellations
Telephone or email to confIrm availability and advise us of any special requests or extras. Your telephone booking will be held for five days.
Complete a booking form over the phone, pay a deposit of £200 (the balance will be paid 4 weeks prior to hire).
The hirer is to send in by email a copy of the drivers license front and back.
Should the hirer cancel the booking the company will endeavour to rehire the motorhome. If successful the amount paid will be refunded less an administration charge of £40 however, if rehire is not successful the hirer will be liable for the deposit and any charges already paid.
We reserve the right to cancel the booking before commencement of hire if the named drivers licenses are invalid or do not comply with the information stated on the booking form. In this case you will forfeit the booking deposit and hire charges already paid.
Collections & Returns
Collections of the Motorhome is from 2pm-8pm.
Return of the Motorhome is on or before 11am.

An earlier collection may be arranged subject to previous hire.
There will be a late surcharge of £50 per hour due to the time it takes to have the Motorhome ready for the next hirer.
We accept no liability for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other consequences loss claims arising from Motorhome breakdown, fair wear and tear accepted, accident or any other such related causes. All accidents must be reported immediately by telephone to 07533822020. An accident report must be completed at the termination of hire.
The hirer shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred for speeding, parking fines, congestion charge and for any other offences committed against the Road Traffic Act or traffic regulations.
The hirer shall be responsible for all overhead damage resulting from any accident, overhead damage is defined from ground to in excess of 6 feet from the ground. Damage to windscreen, tyres and punctures are the responsibility of the hirer. You are required to check tyre pressure and engine fluid levels as specified in the drivers manual.
The hirer is required to keep the Motorhome under there control throughout the hire period. It must be locked at all times when unattended.
In the unlikely event of a breakdown please contact Cross Country Motorhome Hire on 07533822020 to arrange pick up. The hirer is authorised to spend up to £100 on repairs, this will be repaid on submission of a valid VAT receipt, for repairs costing more than £100 you must obtain approval from Cross Country Motorhome Hire.
Fuel & Gas
A full tank of diesel is supplied with the vehicle at the commencement of hire and the hirer is expected to return the vehicle with a full tank, any shortage will be charged to the hirer.
One gas cylinder (6kg propane) is supplied. Subsequent refills are the responsibility of the hirer who should ensure that refilled bottles are the same size and fitting and returned with the vehicle.
Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle and any infringement of the condition will incur risk a minimum charge of £100. For the benefit of other uses your cooperation would be appreciated.
Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that the reserved Motorhome is avaliable, if due to circumstances beyond our control this is not possible and an alternative suitable Motorhome is not available our liability is limited to the refunds of all money paid by you.
Cross Country Motorhome Hire cannot be held responsible in the event of any damage or inconvenience caused by freezing conditions.
Customers vehicle stored at own risk
Secure parking is provided on site to the hirer for the duration of the hire period at the owners risk.
